2010 Chinese New Year Festival

Year of Tiger / Year of Luck

This year's Chinese New Year celebration was held on February 20th at Coral Glades High School, Coral Springs, FL. Unlike previous years, this year's celebration was an outdoor festival. Although it was the first time held in festival format, it was the most successful CNY celebration to date. There were estimated 2,000 people joined the event. Everyone enjoyed great food, games, and shows.

6. Fan Dance 鐵扇舞– Fearless (Coral Springs Chinese School)
7. Chinese Folk Dance 飛到苗鄉侗寨 (Boynton Beach Chinese School)
8. Chinese Yo-Yo 扯鈴表演 (Coral Springs Chinese School)
9. Hip Hop (Miami Chinese School)
10. Chinese dance (Miao) 苗山舞韻 (Boca Raton Chinese School)
11. Chinese acrobat 中國特技(龍之傳奇) (Professional Performers from Orlando)
12. Tai Chi 太極 (Boynton Beach Chinese School)
13. Martial Art Dance 武術刀 (Boynton Beach Chinese School)
14. Hip Hop – Down (Coral Springs Chinese School)
15. Thilana (Indian Dance) 印度舞  (Madhuri Nagaraj & Sangitha Palaniappa)
16. Chinese Folk Dance 古典舞 (Boynton Beach Chinese School)

Pin-Ball Game & Fish Catching Game made headline

There were many fun game booths at the festival. Among them, Pin-ball game and fish catching game are the most popular ones. Crowds are surrounding these two game booths at all times. Even at the time of closing, people were still playing games there.

Thanks to Wanda Chen and Yoling Chen for spending so much time on preparing those fun games. They are sure to come back on next year's event.
